The ACTIVE8 charter states

ACTIVE8 CHARTER

This charter explains what you can expect from being involved with AWS Community Support:

You can expect:

  • Opportunities to meet other Young People in a safe environment.

  • To be treated equally regardless of race, religion, culture, sex, ability and what you look like.

  • Access to a wide range of relevant information and advice on issues that are important to you.

  • A wide range of challenging and fun activities that will help you to develop new skills, knowledge and attitudes.

  • To be informed of what services and provisions are available to you, now and in the future.

  • To be aware of your right to make a complaint or compliment about the service you receive.

You can expect staff that are:

  • Respectful and supportive.

  • Professional and well trained.

  • Friendly and approachable.

  • Supportive and patient.

  • Reliable and honest.

  • Able to deal with confidential issues with respect and sensitivity.

Your Youth Centre should be:

  • Warm

  • Safe

  • Suitable Furnished and well resourced

  • At most, one bus ride from where you live.

  • Open at least one evening at week.

  • Accessible to all.

How you will be involved in the service:

  • You can expect to have your say and your ideas and suggestions will be taken seriously, respected and acted upon.

  • You have the right to be listened to and be actively involved in decisions that affect the running of your centre or project.

  • Your contributions will be valued and recognised.

  • You will be asked your view on how the service is doing on an annual basis.
